PAM is a novel tool for measuring mechanical pain threshold, specifically designed for arthritis research and particularly suitable for pain assessment of the knee or ankle joints in rodents; In addition, equipped with a claw pressure sensor, the instrument can also be used for pain research on the claws of rats and mice.

PAM is specifically designed for mechanical stimulation and assessment of joint pain, which directly applies a quantified force and directly reads the response of the test animal.

The experimental operator only needs to put a specially designed force sensor on their thumb, and the instrument will record the force process of the animal until it struggles. The instrument is equipped with two force sensors, one for rats and one for mice.

The instrument includes a control system with built-in recording function and a new DCA software for signal detection, data analysis, and conversion. After saving the data, it can be browsed on the control system, or converted into Excel or TXT files and saved on the computer for data analysis and processing.
